We coordinate with project managers to gather unused material on every job site and return it to the respective supplier. Our companies timely and coordinated efforts allow builders to retain funds from previously purchased material, that for years has been ultimately marked down on paper as a “waste factor.”

Having worked in the construction industry for many years and fortunate to have worked for numerous production builders across central Austin, I have first hand witnessed the enormous amounts of material that eventually ends up in the landfill.
From a management perspective, I do understand the hope for the Project Managers to manage this task. Unfortunately many times this is not as feasible as it looks or sounds. With most Project Managers overseeing 10-20 homes, this particular service requires time, equipment and sometimes multiple hands.
On that same note, over the last several years I have noticed an increase in difficulty to return items to the supplier due to fuel prices, lack of drivers and extensive pickup requirements.
With the number of hours this would take a Project Manager on numerous occasions, we strongly believe this time would better service the company if it was spent on site with trades, updating schedules and walking homes.
